Having more than 30 years of publishing, editorial and project management experience between us, we—Greg and Dianna—bring a storehouse of invaluable knowledge to every project—that is, more accurately stated—every relationship we have the pleasure of forming with our clients. Because we are in this for the "long haul," we work very hard to ensure that we understand what our clients want (clear communication to us by our clients) and what we can and cannot do for our clients (clear communication to our clients by us). Some of the services we provide to clients include:
- Choosing the right media—We offer each of our clients our extensive knowledge of current publication trends, mixed with our enthusiasm for embracing cutting-edge technology, tempered by our years of practical experience in an ever-changing industry to help them choose the most effective media for the job.
- Editing and copyreading—We also work very hard to develop relationships with our clients in which we mutually trust and respect each other professionally. We take our time and what we do seriously, and we value the time and work of those who come to us. That means that we take a little time to get to know as much as we can about who our clients are, and we expect that our clients do the same regarding us. Then, we can work closely with our clients to enhance their content and amplify their message while preserving their creative voice and substantive meaning. This may consist of briefly skimming the content or manuscript catch awkward or improper sentence or paragraph construction to full-scale editing and copyreading to correct grammatical and substantive errors and to conform the text to an approved style, such as APA (APA Style), MLA (Modern Language Association) or—our personal favorite—University of Chicago Press (Chicago Manual of Style).
- Proofreading—Provide proofreading of final content or manuscript.
- Indexing—Provide a useful index or other reference guide that would enhance the value of the content
- Front matter—Help authors to create useful and effective copy for the front matter of the book, including such items as the title page, table of contents, preface or other introductory material, acknowledgments and dedications.
- Back cover copy—Help author to create useful and effective marketing copy for the back cover, including testimonials.
- Copyright, permissions, ISBN, and other services—There are a host of small details that are involved in bringing a book to publication. We can help with all of these or identify and work with business partners to provide such services.
- Marketing—We will work with authors to devise and implement an effective marketing strategy that is right for their book and their wallet, identifying partners where necessary and utilizing traditional and Internet tools such as blogs, author and book sites, virtual book tours and other new media tools.
